Over the past several months, Windham & Windsor Housing Trust has been working closely and collaboratively with a new organization in Putney. The new Green Commons of Vermont consists of two strong community pillars: Community Gardens and the Farmers Market. The Housing Trust approached the groups when beginning to assess the feasibility of a new project in Putney on Alice Holway Drive. In a mutually beneficial partnership, the group worked together to conceptualize a design for the future of the space which includes a cluster of mixed income housing stylized within the character of the village nestled next to community green space, gardens and an area for the farmer’s market.

The Green Commons of Vermont and the Housing Trust are excited about the potential of the project and the partnership and invite the community to participate in an introductory informational forum on September 16th via zoom (note that this is a rescheduled date). The session will be recorded for viewing after the fact and will have call in information for those who do not have streaming access. The meeting will have presentations from both groups and will have ample time dedicated to question and answers from the community.
