An Enhanced Life Estate Deed can help you leave your house to the person or people you choose after you die. You can still make decisions about the house during your lifetime. For example, you can decide to mortgage the house, sell it, or rent it out without anyone’s permission. Also, you can change or end the Enhanced Life Estate deed at any time. When you die, the house goes to the person or people you choose without going through probate court. This saves time and money.
An Enhanced Life Estate deed is a legal document. At the Enhanced Life Estate Deed Clinic, you can talk to an attorney about whether it is right for you. If it is, the lawyer can help you write up the Enhanced Life Estate Deed paperwork that you need. The lawyer can also give you advice about any transfer tax that might be owed. There is no cost to these services, however there are some fees associated with recording the deed with your city/town. We will go over these in the webinar. Finally, the attorney can tell you the steps you need to take to finish the Enhanced Life Estate Deed process.
